passive tone control (flat response potentiometer position)

This module is easily availabe to me. Its passive tone control with volume, Bass and treble. Wanted to ask. What would be easy way to know flat (Original signal with no equalization to bass and treble frequency) response position of the controls ?

If designed correctly, center position of the wiper pin. If correct pots are used, there should be click for center position. Although i doubt it.
The only chance for the circuit to sound correct is to use buffer before and after the passive tone control.

Use REW software (free download) to measure the frequency response. This will also let you see the effect of the controls as well as where the flat positions are.

I use a low cost PC audio interface (Behringer UAC222) but a PC or laptop's sound card would do.

That looks like a James control, and they are not flat in any position.
