there must be more interest out there? Passive volume + input select? Or like me, planning an active linestage and would like remote control...
I have already registered my personal interest in this project, but I was just thinking -
I cut panels (my website is in my sig). If i were to build myself one of these, i would have to cut a panel for it.
Please dont take this as spam (if i were wanting to spam, id hit all the other threads, not this, much smaller, one!) but, if im cutting a panel for myself, it could seem like a good idea to make more for other people?
What i really mean to say is that, if a full kit of electronic components is proposed, then, id guess, it could become much more popular if some hardware was available also. I know from my own (personal) builds that things are so much more likely to get finished if all the parts are to hand!
Just an idea - sure, cutting panels puts dinner on the table here, but, again, im not really trying to tout! Indeed, if someone were to suggest the same using another supplier, i would still think the idea could be beneficial : )
Thank you,
Julian
I ordered pcb's and I will prepare several sets. I'll let you know when they are ready.
Julian, your panels look great! I have to consider what size would I need and I will contact you to determine the details.

Im sorry the picture below is some crazy size, but its what i could find to illustrate the best -
Would you consider something along those sort of lines? Ive never actually used them at all, but it looks like one the right length would keep the i/o board and the front panel boards a sensible distance from each other. They would, i suspect, also be quite light to ship to people, and, cutting panels for them would be somewhat less involved than for a lot of other case designs.
And, whilst theyre a little dull, theyre not really unattractive?
Just a suggestion of somthing i was knocking arround my head to house my own unit (when built).

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

another picture -
This isnt on my website, but i was thinking of putting the shot up there -
I realise not everyone is a fan of gloss, but i have often thought that somthing like that (ie gloss black, silver writing) could look quite smart on one of those extruded cases? The screws in that photo are a4 stainless, so they stay shiny.
Again, not to evreyones taste though, but, once the design is done, its no bother to cut on gloss / matt / silver / whatever. (i cut some of the panels above in gloss blue and that looked quite smart also, but, again, i find the sharpness of the gloss appealing in some builds - a lot of its just personal taste)

please count me in
I want to order a set once you have them ready, I am extremely interested in this project.
Thanks a lot for all your efforts.

Veteran,
I have a set of your Aleph boards and control module that have been waiting for this project to come. Definitely count me in!

PCB’s are ready (In gold-plated and tined version). I will prepare documentation and let you know.
Count me in for GOLD version PCB set !
I'm very interested as well.
I think I read your first post correctly, but can this be utilized as only a remote volume setup? I've already got a preamp, but I need an IR remote volume control kit. I only have one pair of inputs so I don't need the selector portion.

What kind of Controller on the board (Atmel , Pic ... ?)

Count me in for a full set with micro controller, PCBs,...
Juste let me know final price including shipping to France

Great news! Looking forward to the details. FWIW, I'm good with tinned brds. - Thanks!
This looks great. I'm interested in the full package w/ gold PCB (contingent on final price + shipping to Canada).
Here are all the information we need to move on this project 😉
Documentation:

The basic kit includes a set of printed circuit boards (gold- or tin- plated), programmed microcontroller and BA6418 driver. I divided them into four parts (described in the "BOM - Bill of materials.pdf" document):
STANDARD - tinned
47 $ (PayPal fee included) + shipping (depends on the place of delivery)
STANDARD - gold plated
$ 55 (PayPal fee included) + shipping (depends on the place of delivery)
PREMIUM - tinned (please also specify the color of the backlight switches: red, blue, green)
$ 112 (PayPal fee included) + shipping (depends on the place of delivery)
PREMIUM - Gold plater (please also specify the color of the backlight switches: red, blue, green)
$ 119 (PayPal fee included) + shipping (depends on the place of delivery)
I only have a limited amount of gold PCBs so I will share them among people who expressed their wish to receive them early in this thread.
