Got an early delivery today. It looks amazing and was packaged perfectly for the long trip. This is the first chassis I've ordered, though I do have one with my Starving Student II, and look forward to ordering more for other projects.
The first project to go in here will be the F5m before moving it to something smaller. I started collecting parts for an F5, Aleph J, and Aleph 30 so one of them will end up living in here until I get the itch to build something else

The hole pattern on these heatsinks is new, here's some pictures for anyone interested in what that looks like.

Does anyone know how deep the holes in the heatsinks are? The standoffs I was looking at are 6mm on the threaded part but I'm not sure if that'll be too long.
While looking at the front panel again I noticed it doesn't have the 8 holes on the back like the deluxe 4u chassis has where you can mount something. It does have 2 mounting holes for blue leds though

isn't it easy enough trying standoff in situ?
you can always shave off some screw length with file
even in regular fabs, sometimes is impossible obtaining all components so that no additional work is needed

We usually drill the holes about 7mm deep while the thread is 6,5mm deep. This new drilling template is probably going to be used for all the Deluxe chassis from now on so it's possible to mount as many boards as possible
Hi, Gianluca. I recieved my package today. Thanks again.
Gianluca. I received my package too. Thanks again. I am stunned with how high quality this unit is.
So now the problem is, Sony V-FET (https://www.firstwatt.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/art_sony_vfet_pt2.pdf) or Tokin SIT? Only one chassis….
I've had some of you greedy boyz ask me if we still had some of these in stock. At the moment I am not able to check as we are currently closed for summer holidays but as soon as I am back to my office at the end of the month I'll double check, I think we still have some left in our warehouse since we usually produce a couple more than the ordered ones 🙂 @SeeRockCity FYI
I just wanted to ask how high the heat dissipation (DEC C/W) is for the Modushop 4U/400.
I couldn't find anything about it.
THANKS

What advice do you need?
- Choose a color
- Choose a size
- Drill out the pilot hole to size (but generally you'd not go all the way through the front panel). I generally go to the depth of the base.
- Insert LED
- Secure with your choice of whatever you have around... 'super' glue, less-than super glue, silicon adhesive, hot glue, tape, peanut butter... If you get really lucky it's a tight friction fit.
Of course…but ….because the 2mm Kingbright will probably fit:

Aha! You want to know the size of the pilot hole and/or if anyone knows of LEDs that 'fit' without drilling, I suppose.Of course…but ….because the 2mm Kingbright will probably fit:

@Gianluca - when you're back from holiday, could you please check the size of the LED pilot holes on the front panel. Grazie Mille.
I asked about this in another thread https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/yet-another-aleph-j-build.410849/post-7725576. When I measured they seemed to be around 1.8mm but I couldn't find anything in stock that would fit. My next McMaster Carr order will have a couple drill bits & depth stops so I can drill them out on the back.Aha! It's a very unscientific measurement but my 1.5mm hex driver fits into the hole and the 2mm one doesn't.
