With all of the new devices being explored here, etc.

I humbly request that a future article contain some tutorial info on reading device specs, IV graphs, temp graphs, load lines, etc. and what can be divined from them.

A Pass-esque tutorial would be the ultimate way to grok it, and would be a great addition to what has come before. (Pass tutorials always have a high steak-to-sizzle ratio)

I'd be happy to do my part and do illustrations, or make coffee, or something...

Hola Y'all...

I need all the enlightenment on solid state I can get, as i started 30 years too late. As I am nursing a Yamaha B2 back to life and a Hafler DH200. I keep looking at Mr. Pass' Amps and I feel a Burning desire(pardon the pun)to build an amp from scratch.

By the way is this the line for the group buy for Flux Capacitors???

Thanks for ALL you do Mr. Pass it keeps my feeble brain thinking.

Regards, Elwood

The 19 year old me says "but i I like the avatar of the butt with the world on it" and the 55 year old me me says"I don't care what you do just leave me alone can't you see I'm Burning myself with my soldering iron" . I really just want some those really cool jfet 2sj109's, but then I would have another project I don't have time for...

Dr. Phil says "It's OK" to indulge yourself on occasion(sp).

Forgive me for my indulgences, Elwood

Did I hear an echo??

...and God said let there be life and then there was sand and then there was man(some guys at ATT Bell labs) who said let there be transistors and it was good. Then ... well you know the story NP did what needed to be done and Poof
we could hear music and other near godly things(after the audible range we feel((recieve))... the audible(sensory) Image.

OK I give,

EL

If you want to build an amp from scratch you must first create the universe.

If you really want to build one from scratch, I think that DH200 chassis might form the basis of a few Pass projects. 🙂

I think the DH200 chassis idea is great, and something to use the EI tranny in it if possible. Mine died long ago, but the chassis remains. Most of the Pass stuff appears too balzy to run on those hafler sinks.
