Hi!
I am loooking at a pair of second hand XA160's. They are produced in 2003 and frequently used. Should they be serviced, or can I expect them to sound as glorious as they did new? If they need service to regain their past glory, can I expect this to be costly?
Best regards,

You could consider a power supply re-cap after 20 years, depending on
whether it's been on a lot or not. Or you could wait until you hear noise
coming through the speakers.
I have a 2 pair of Stasis 1's back from a customer, the caps were still
in good shape after 40 years.
Other than that, I don't recall seeing old age failures unless you count
corrosion from salt air and such.

I had a Threshold S/500 with all original parts. Still worked fine when I sold it to someone who needed the arc-welding power. As far as I know he is still using it. I should send him a note suggesting a recap.
