The apparent/perceived performance of any amp will largely be determined by the needs of the speaker.
With the right speakers the firstwatt amps are excellent, no need to build pass labs amps.

Supposedly pass labs XA amplifiers are designed to drive even the most demanding speakers, with more robust PSU arrangements and output stages. How it will sound no one can give you an answer, you would have to get both amplifiers and compare them yourself.
I don’t have an F5, but my Aleph-X monoblock with 50W into 8 or 4 ohms does a magical job driving my Troels Gravesen CNO designed speakers.
Of course, I have cheated, with a power supply that includes 1/4 Farad of capacitance in a CLC arrangement with 2.4 mH inductance per channel. It does make a difference.
