Hello friends
I want to do my first power amplifier
Ksa100 mk2 is cheaper and sold with kits so If I buy that will be easy to do and in this forum many people did F5 turbo V2.
is there anybody know which is better?
do you have any recommendation?
Edit I decided and bought some companets of KSA 100. and I am looking for transistörs

Probably will come down to personal choice, we all have our own opinions. I have never constructed the F5 Turbo or the KSA100. However I have built the F5 and the KSA50.
The KSA 50 to my ears was much better, easier to listen to. This may have been that it was more suited to my source, pre amp or speakers. It's still in use now. This no way detracts from the F5, I am sure there will be views that give the opposite findings, each to their own.
Whichever you decide be prepared for the prodigious amount of heat that a large class A produces.

I know it is a very general statement but a lot of the kits on offer originate in China.
Potential problems with fake / faulty components and poor or non existing support.
If you build a Pass amplifier it may cost more but with a little care you will be building with known good quality parts, on proven circuit boards.
Along with endless support and experience on this board.

Thank you very much for answers.
that is right there are lots of fake in china so if I buy I will buy than five stars seller and with good comment. But I am leery about china sites.
I did not decide yet I tought maybe someone did pass f5 and did ksa100 than china sites so can compore them.

The F5T v2 is more laid back sounding than the F5. The original F5 being more of a lie detector for frontend gear.
I have built both F5 and F5T v2. Don't think 25w F5 vs Krell a fair comparison. I have never built a Krell, so I can't speak to their sound. F5T v2 would be a better comparison just due to the power levels.

Consider also what kind of load either amp will be driving. The Krell klones could care less whats attached to them and it seems most of the Pass lower powered ones are geared for high efficiency speakers and mate well with them.
The F5 has more grunt capability , but haven,t built one yet.
Knowing what kind of speaker the maker prefers will tell you the amp to build for it and shows his priorities.

The original F5, if built with protection circuit, will clamp down on current if 1 ohm is reached. That's a lot of grunt. Still, the F5T v2 can pull 38A of current on peaks...I think that figure s correct. That's even more grunt.
It looks just like V1 except that there are some diodes in parallel with the
Source resistors of the output devices. These are some of those fancy newfangled
high speed power diodes from Vishay, MUR3020W, rated at 400A
peak and having an equivalent resistance of about .03 ohms per parallel pair.
Inserting these in parallel with the 0.5 ohm Source resistance gives us an
impedance which is very low at high currents but devolves to the 0.5 ohm
value at less than an amp.
The result is that the amplifier can now deliver 38 amp peaks: graphic shown in article
I looked and only pcb and transistors was 120 dolars to Turkey for F5 V2 turbo
that is my first protect so I bought KSA100 MKII. it was 85 but I talked with seller he told this is klon and transistors japan and orginal and I offered 75 he told 77 so I bought than 77 dolar.
I plan change the transistors with MJL4281

So you can get those 1n5309 (4 required ) original diodes and not fake ones with the pcbs for 85 clams
This about what these 4 diodes now cost alone original.
Buyer beware!
