Parts Express's new website is cancer.

Seriously. I type in what I want and it gives me results for everything close to what I want, but not even on the first page is what I typed. I type simple stuff that even works on the mobile site.

As if it wasn't the most miserable site that doesn't like you easily open new tabs to start with... Now the menus are horrific.

everyone that i talk to agrees with you. there are lots that i cant find on the new website. I think parts express has been so busy that this move will definately sell less speakers and give employees a break. other people just go to other websites and buy from there. works out for everybody except the people that frequently buy from parts express.

I'm not even sure where the paths are at to go to the pages specific to anything. They seem to make little sense to me and I end up seeing nothing I'm looking for at all... Let's be realistic, they sell to us "autists" and not emotional people that buy extra stuff off of Etsy because they were exposed to it.

The old side was fairly searchable despite it's grievances.

It feels intentional huh?

"ranges" for inductors? You can't click on what you want? I have to use Google to even find pages I'm looking for..

I noticed. They don't even have a category called crossover parts anymore. Right when I need to build a speaker crossover. Used to the crossover header brought up selections of inductors, capacitors, electrolytic capacitors. Now all mixed up.
They still stock the driver I need, and the local Eminence distributor (no stock but is allowed to order for you) has moved a half mile from an intersection with 200000 cars a day. I ride a bicycle, I don't possess a car that starts on RFG. I'll be buying from P-E.

Not to pile on but PE has been going downhill since they stopped printing the yearly catalog. Then the efficiency experts came in and the shipping packing became dismal. Now they’re unpredictable with sales and discounts. The new website is another nail in the coffin. I’d rather support meniscus and madisound.

It’s all very sad because my uncle built his own speakers in the 70s & 80s and upon his passing in ‘01, I inherited a bunch of drivers he purchased, parts express sales slip still intact. This was back before I ever got into speaker building.

I like those black oxide wood screws though!

its truly horrible and the predictive search box terrible. I wasted over an hour with what should have taken 5 minutes looking for stuff. Its like being on "dial-up" and could potentially wear a customer down as to not make purchases.

So they have a new web site and it isn't perfect yet? And now we make up conspiracy theories like they did it on purpose? Wow...

I just went there, entered "crossover" in the search and got tones of response, a slew of caps, skipped in a few pages and found inductors. From the menu on the left, I could sort by inductor, or even "fuse type lamps". I didn't try to order anything as I don't have a need now, but I can't say I had trouble with it.

The speed is ok for me. But sorting by "ranges" ? And impossible paths? If you have a new webpage you don't test it in a live URL. You do a private one.
