Paradigm Sub SB-110

I have an old Paradigm passive sub sitting in the spare bedroom
taking up space.

Its'a a 4th order bandpass, with it's own stereo crossover.

If you have a pair of mini monitors and need a little more bass,
this might be just the thing for you.

And the price is right: Free to any DIYaudio member.

Local Pickup only.

San Diego, Mira Mesa (just north of Miramar)

Hey Herm: That's very generous of you.

No, guys, I'm not going to try to get in on this  I just spotted the reference to the SB-110 and wanted to toss in that I have one too. It is still working after all these years, and quite well I must say. I have is paired with some heavily modified Polk Audio towers on the 'patio' sound system and it makes good bass - especially when the volume gets cranked. It takes about 125W to make this puppy sing.

Mine has been lugged from pillar to post, and even drowned once, and it is still makin' music.

Whoever get's it, take the time to dismount the driver, clean the contacts and wiring terminations well and ensure that the spade lugs on the wires are making a solid contact with the tabs on the driver. Best bet here is to solder 'em in place. Installing heavier wires wouldn't hurt either, while you've got it open.

Good luck!

Yeah, suppose I could have asked for a couple of bucks,
but my Karma can use the boost. Notice I am not being so nice
with the powered sub I just posted!

I had a lot of fun with it over the years!

Thanks for the advice for Kevin (sqlkev).

Enjoy!

Thank you Herm for your generosity. I'll put the sub to good use. I already have plans for it in my room 😉
It will be mated up with the rs125 and the tweets will be the xt19
still trying to figure out the crossover, but I'll start on the project soon now that I have this sub 😱

Thank you for your suggestion JesseG, I'll take a look at the sub later 🙂

Hi sqlkev

Not sure if you noticed, but as Herm said - the Paradigm has a built in xover. If you are bi-amping, just feed the bass amp full freq to the sb-110 (I seem to remember its xo'd at 125hz).

If you are using a single amp, just feed your speaker cables into the input snapgrips and from the output snapgrips to your midband speakers. The SB-110 passes full signal on after suing some of the energy for itself.
