Not sure how to describe this...but does anybody know where to buy those rings to attach to a panel for valves?
I want to cover up any drill marks and any other un sightly scuffs. See pic

Thx
Neville

It isn't exactly what you were looking for, but consider a short tube cage. I used several purchased from vt4c.com, including their model CH-FM-39 (Audio Catalog, expect long load times) to good effect. You could mount the bottom ring directly onto the chassis cover, limit yourself to one additional level and fully protect the exposed tubes.

No, the enclosures were purchased from a now-defunct company called ATI-Anodized Research (or something like that), located in Thailand. I purchased 8 or 9 different enclosures about 8 years ago and have used most of them in various projects.

hey JonSnell, thanks for that I could not imagine that those in the pic I posted were specifically made for tubes 🙂 I wonder how it would tolerate heat from tubes? I'm going to keep the top of the tube socket level with the top panel so hopefully it wont get too hot.

I do like the fancy tube guards SRMgee posted, but you have to order parts the old fashioned way and not via web page.

I forget what you call them, but they would be on the same pages as hole plugs. You can get strips of stock and cut them to length to fit the circumference of the hole, but they also do come in dimensions. Smaller ones protect things like bundles of wire coming through a chassis hole, so even if not soft or rubber, would still count as a grommet.

Here is a page from Mouser. Heyco calls them bushings. Look at items C on this page:

The ones ranging from .8 inch to 2 inch for 1/8 inch panel ought to work fine.
