Hi,
I was wondering why there a 3 fans inside my Nview spectra C? I understand they are for cooling some elements in the spectra C 😎 , but is that the heat of the panel itself or also from the OP?
In other words, if I lay down my panel on the ground and disconnect the fans. Then I put on the panel for a few hours would something overheat? In a normal lcd/tft computerscreen there is no fan at all.
I'm just curious because I don't like the sound my panel is making (I think one of the fans is not really stable).

LCD's produce virtually no heat, but ohp's on the other hand do. I would say the fans are for the ohp, and could be removed safley without overheating the LCD.
I've seen laptop screens with two fans in the "lid" to counteract the heat from the backlights. Seemed a bit excessive at first.. but they must have done so for a reason I think.

interesting, i posted pics of me changing fans on the inside of the Spectra C panel a few weeks ago on this forum!
I also let everybody know that the fans are PURELY for cooling down the heat that is absorbed from the OHP fresnel.
The panel itself has no essential heat production.
I also posted pics and explained that i installed a few NEW 40mm fans inside (pc origin) which fit perfectly inside as well as the distance between the small holes for the bolts.
I bought the fans at allied electronics i think, carefull as they have 5 volts as well as 12 volts fan with the same size!!!!!!!
I also showed the fact that i used (red) 'felt' washers between fan and the body of the ohp in order to add noise cancellation (or noise reduction) by avoiding unnecessary contact of fan and panel!
i know at least one guy who would be mad about this question as i explained it thoroughly i think!
fortunately i have nothing else to do untill the 6th of jan. 2003 than to watch movies and reply to posts
