hi, has anyone used these capacitors or do you have an opinion on them? http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/level5/module.jsp?moduleId=en/388706.xml

Sounds like marketing blurb to me.
Best advice here (and its from a number of industry experts like JC, NP et al) is avoid electrolytics in the signal path if you can. You cannot avoid them in the power supply, but that's a different matter.

I stocked up on a few of these 🙂 from,

I haven't used any in anger yet but first impressions seem good. Will have to get the old Tan Theta meter ( one of Cyril Batemans designs ) on them for a real showdown.

Hello Guys
I think these parts sound good in the power supply , not really intended for the signal path.
By the way what electrolytic capacitors do you guys like.
Regards
Arthur

I also asked about experiences with these ECA-caps once. Still didn't try them. They're reasonable cheap (price of a standard part), much cheaper than Cerafines or similar parts, so I don't see much of marketing gimmick here. They state more or less the same things as others.
Of course if one compares them to FM or FC parts, one has the impression that one gets more spec from the FC/FM for the about same money (lifetime, ESR).
Maybe one could have a closer look (impedance vs frequency, DA)?
Have fun, Hannes
