I built a small amp with a pam8302 and it worked great.
I have now a pam8301.
According to the datasheet for the 8301 it only has a single line in connection, and it isn't signed. Which line connects? The + or -? And where would I connect the other?

"+" goes to the free end of the capacitor (0.1uF) in series with pin 3 of the PAM8301, "-" to pin 2 of the PAM8301 (also power ground).

Thanks. That's what I thought, but didn't want to blow up devices by connecting straight to ground.

True, the separation between chip-amps and class D is not unambiguous as an IC may be both "chip-amp" and "class D".
