Bigun,
difficult to say as they aren't in proper cabinets still and the drivers are close to the floor.
However, I'll raise them up on some stands tonight and have a good listen and will post back off-axis against on-axis treble impressions. I am aware your concerns regards peaky treble that to you is uncomfortable with some other FR drivers. So I'll listen with this in mind.

@ Scott, where do you buy the A12P that will ship to UK? I havent had any success, only the older models seem a available. Are you buying wholesale or something?
Lautsprecher in Germany have them listed. Alternatively, you could buy direct from Mark Audio.

IINM, although some folks have received advanced copies 🙁, this new model is still trickling through the "normal" distribution pipelines, and the first batch was limited production which may have already sold out, so we may need to inquire of Mark when to hope for more
How much have the dimensions changed from the classic gr mar-ken12?We'll have A12.2p too. Chris has the Mar-Ken12.2pT mostly built awaiting the driver to detail them.

Also, in that we haven't complete mar-ken12.2p or pencil 12.2p speakers out there, based on the previous A12, how does the sound differ between the pencil floor stander and mar-ken stand mount monitor?
MK12 is 13 litre, ML12.2p is 16 litre.
We have only compared MK7 to Pensil7, differences are pretty much rote, MK trades ultimate extension for more finesse.

Hi Bigun,
Unfortunately something else came up. I should have some spare time this weekend to do some serious off-axis listening.

Regarding the fostex 207, have you tried
1. A LCR trap ( parallel notch filter)
2. Making a dougnut shaped thing beween the main cone and the high frequency cone, made of some soft absorbtive material like BAF or cotton/rubber foam.
To get the notch filter to work you might have to have a zobel filter as well or tweak the notch filter values to the actual impedance at that frequency.

Hi Bigun,
Yes I have made great progress with the A12P drivers.
Check here over in Markaudio pages on this forum where I started a new thread on a pair of Scottmoose desined standmounts for them. Highly recommended. http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/markaudio/217555-alpair12p-gen2-standmount-speakers.html

Thanks.
As to the off axis responce with the A12P drivers this is quite excellent. I can sit off axis at 45 degs and approx 6ft from the left speaker and I can clearly still hear a full stereo image with good separartion. The treble is not harsh in any way whatsoever, but I do find using a pair of Fostex T90A supertweeters with a small 1uF cap and attenuated by 14dB just adds a little extra to the overal sound. These paper coned Alpairs are really very good drivers that Mark has come up with and they don't half sound good in these small 16L vented cabinets.

that's good to know, I will be recommending them to a colleague who is interested in a top-notch driver.
