hmmm....what about feeding the Aleph inpustage from an own powersupply maybe even battery driven? and say about a half a farad capacitans?....madness? or an improvment?...say a 20VA trafo should suffice?

but then 9.1V (the zener) is so much lower than 48v that shouldent make a difference....

Micke,

If you want to regulate the front end of the Aleph the only part of the circuit that can be regulated is the tail of the differential. All you have to do is drop a few volts off the main supply B+ with a regulator to feed the current source of the differential.

You do not need another transformer, unless you need to attach the tail of the differential to a higher B+ for some reason.

P.S. You probably know my thoughts on batteries.
