Hello,
How are you?

I own a NAD 302 and i love the sound - but replace it bc's i feel that it dosnt "extract" the best from my SPEAKERS - JAMO E600 (Sensitivity: 87dB ; Impedance: 6Ohm).

At the moment i have the NAD 302 Amp and i love the sound very much - but still feel the my SPEAKERS can preform much better.

I looking for an around 90' stereo Amp' and been check'd those:
* Rotel 971.
* NAD 7240PE.
* NAD 7020i Stereo (That i felt that it really the same sound of the 302 of mine).
* YAMAHA AX-380.

Actualy - all of them was sounds me great...so i really need some advice here...like look at my speakers specification...
I just not a kinda expert at all...

Do you see any of these that can still give me the same great sound of my NAD 302's but will be stronger?

Thanks so much!!!

You would only know by listening but a quick look at the circuit for the NAD 302 shows a power amp design with an input stage that is what is termed "single ended". This can sound different (more musical in many folks opinion) than the almost universally employed LTP (long tailed pair or "differential" input stage) due to the nature of the distortion it produces...

As this is a diy site, I'd recommend building a Symasym. 😉

The NAD 302 is an integrated amp. The Symasym in post 1 of that thread would only go part of the way in replacing it. 😉

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

And the speakers in question:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

With all this said, I can not make a recommendation on what the best amp for the job is.

Sorry, but i do not know what is all about with "Symasym"...never heard about it.

I do understand that this is a D.I.Y forum and i wondering if there is a section in this site that i can advice about that isue?

Thanks!

To be honest your NAD 302 is only a 25 watt per channel int amp. Almost anything out there will out perform it. Have had one in the past, have repaired them, they have a tendency to go up in a puff of smoke. They sound colored to me. I don't remember if they have a pre out main in jacks or not as its been too many years ago but if they do it would be a good opportunity to audition other power amplifiers. If not I would consider splitting the signal and add pre out and power in RCA jacks to the back of it. If that is too much trouble I would consider putting it on ebay for a quick sale and then use the proceeds to purchase something of better quaility. No offense but your speakers are nothing to write home about either but if you are happy with their marginal efficiency then keep them.

How about selling your NAD purchase or build a nice preamp and finish the system off with a chip amp. This would give you something of far better quality than you have now and you would get to experience DIY Audio.

No. i dont want to use a PRE , dont have too much place for another device.

Maiby i will sell it...but i dont think that it will be at eBay, as the W.W shippment (i live in israel) will make it unworthwhile to me or to the buyer that will have to cover the shipping cost.

I think that ther are many HI-FI fans that love those 70'-90' devices - as few of those people contacted me after i was published 2nd hand ad - within the 1st day.

For my speakers: i LOVE them...love the sound and for my needs - they're awesome!!!
What is the meaning of: "your speakers are nothing to write home about either"
(nothing to write about home??)
I have a small flat...all over the last 6 years, dont need more then that.

I think that i just need an Amp. that will be able to push them - that will be able to push my 6Ohm speakers...
I need an Amp. tjat will be able to push both 4Ohm & 6Ohm and that will have even "overplus"...(more to handle with).

Thats it...

Thanks for you help!

It means he thinks they are not good speakers. I've tried to keep that as literal as can be with no misunderstanding possible. Personally, I think they might sound very good with a sub in a small room. A lot of old speakers sound better than new ones, they were better than we gave them credit for at the time because they weren't used with good equipment. The NAD was good but too warm and wooly sounding to my ears but that's what some people prefer.

P.S.
The "write home" phrase always seems to be reserved for negative comments and is always used with "nothing to", meaning the opposite of good news to compose a letter about, then sending the letter home to inform your family of the good news; therefore it's always about bad news.

Now i know that it means: "not something that is especially good or exciting"
I dono...for my needs they great and i realy love the sound - especially when i was try'd them with Amp. of ROTEL!
So i pretty sure that these guys just need the right Amp.
