Overkill to use dC protektion on TPA3255?

I always look at it as cheap insurance and add to all my amps, chip or A/B.

I typically buy off eBay, fully built and just boards but always test on the bench before assuming it works, especially for positive and negative DC.

Been surprised how many on eBay only disconnect with positive DC offset and not negative. That lesson cost me a tweeter a year ago.

I reade that TPA3255 already has a built in dc protection ,so it won´t need any extra,
But how about IRS2092 I couln´t fint any in the datashet.
Is it overkill to have a extra protection?

Yes and no. Yes, it got a DC protection. No, if you are using SE mode. The DC protection does not work in SE mode. (Datasheet, "9.4.1.3DC SpeakerProtection", page 19 bottom paragraph, last sentence)

E: Sorry, I must have misread that, I thought you were asking about the TPA3255. A DC protection does make sense in an IRS2092 because it's possible to fry it and then the DC protection doesn't work anymore.
