Jaap,
The load line will indeed be a better match for a 45 tube. Why don't you try two parallel 12b's first. Might buy you enough plate area to generate enough current when the phones and signal demand it.

Hi, new to Forum. Got this burning question to ask Gurus here.
Got a 1:1 audio transfomer with 3 ohm DC & 15mH windings. Hook it to a Class AB.
Open secondary is ok with 2.8V. But when I connect a 8 ohm load, it drop to about 0.6 of Vsource.
What would be the limitation of the trafo causing this drop?
Thanks in advance!
