I have a few pairs of (hopefully) genuine Toshiba 2SA2121 and 2SC5949 and before I attempt to learn Spice and design a simple output stage myself, I wanted to seek advice here and ask:
Are there any freely available designs using these output transistor that I can copy, or modify slightly?

You can try to realize or modify the project in attachment.
Yours power transistors can perfectly replace which are noticed in this schematic, through the addition of a current driver mounted as Darlington pair.

You could put them in something “bigger”. These types supposedly had better SOA than the C5200, but less fT. They were EOL’ed rather quickly, and I never saw them in super widespread use in pro audio equipment. Probably just not enough to distinguish them from the types that already gained market acceptance. Anything that uses C5200’s or C3281’s and runs at sane voltages would work - a 20 MHz fT isn’t a show stopper most of the time.
it is true that they are transistors designed for powerful applications: high max voltage, high max current, high thermal dissipation, high hfe. Maybe you will find a suitable idea in this French site :
