output stage mods need guidance.

Hello,

ok, I'm ready to change the stock output section on my pioneer DV-440 and need to guidance.

context:
1 PCM1742KE dac.
o/p signal goes to a series cap (dc blocker I guess)47uf/16 then 2.2k then a SMD dual op/amp BA4560F which implements a LPF with 1 op amp per channel. After this another series cap and 2 series 470R resistors. Between these 2 Rs the mute transitor taps onto the line.

Here is where I need your input.
1. forget the whole op/amp filter stage and pick-off signal after the first cap. Replace cap with something better.
2. DC couple this last stage to be able to short out the two series caps. keep same op amps.
3. same as 2 but replace the opamps with some BB or AD amps (which ones?).
4. remove one or both of the last series R? are these to load the output of amps and by removing them I'm messing with the load + interconnect?
5. remove the mute transitor tap point.

Thanks
paba

5.

No, the unit is still stock and sitting on the side for a future project perhaps.

I now use the CEC CD3300R as my main CD Player. I just got it so I didn't have a chance to open it yet. But I will probably replace any cheap electrolytic caps and the crystal with an aftermarket clock.

cheers
paba
