I think the links you've posted and the comments you've made indicate you are pretty well up to the task, just take your time.

I am not at all certain this wire is suitable, and you might still want to consider getting it from Magnepan, but this is interesting:

Film Insulated Nysol
Yep, that is one of the insulation types for magnet wire. It would be just fine for this application.
There are about 12 classes of insulations that conform to various standards
( NEMA, JW, ISO, etc). Then there are the insulation thickness specs: single, heavy, triple, quad and special, as well as various physical insulation wrap materials.
MWS Wire Industries - Insulation Specification Cross Reference Table
Standard Wire Data

There are huge numbers of variables for different applications. For instance a "mush" coil wound electric motor stator one need to be mindful of the type of motor frame and cooling design (TEFC, Open Drip Proof, etc... plus the service factor and shaft load type.... etc. These may ALL have a relevance for the harmonic characteristics of the overhung mush coil, just as the length of the coil overhang (overhang meaning coil groups extension beyond the stator laminations) affects the magnetic noise and localized turn to turn hot spots. So one may therefore decide to use a different insul. class or insul. build (coating thickness). Conversely a motor used in a grain elevators application will be subject to rodent infestation, grain powder residues, which will become caked on the winding and rotor laminations....think HEAT and possibly corrosive, highly abrasive conditions...again some other choices.

Then we get to the ever curious and varied world of x-formers, rotary inverters, switch gear... etc.

YES, Magnepan does use true magnet wire.... meaning insulated by thin "varnish like" material. Probably a 105C temp. rating single or heavy build polyimde, maybe "Nysol".

Honest, I was actually paying attention working in the motor winding shop those 35+ years ago!!

Try giving Synflex a call.

If they don't have it, they sure know where to find it.

Magura 🙂
Surely enough, Synflex answered e-mail that they would e-mail me a list of 10 or so European wire distributors in various countries. I'll post them here when I get the list.
I referred MWS to them as well for their listings.
Thank you.

That's the way!

Synflex are always a good shot when it comes to something they are even remotely connected to.

That they also supply the #1 quality magnet wire as well, is sure worth keeping in mind as well.

I have been a very happy client of Synflex for the better part of my life, and my father has used them as the main supplier since I can remember. Never even one single time, they have supplied anything but top quality, on time.

Magura 🙂
