Orion HCCA-D2400 firmware?

Does anyone have the firmware that goes in the PIC chip? Reason I ask is this one is in lockout. Using the bitwriter from DEI (which is what you use to program these amps).

Shows the eeprom info as corrupt, and it wont take a write. it reads the parameters, but the data in them is corrupt/random. And as i mentioned, if i reset it and try to write with the bitwriter it fails.

So replacement of the PIC is required, but i need the firmware?

any help would be appreciated.

Yea, tell me about it. I had a HCCA-D5000 on the bench last year and gave up on it. After fighting with the smaller power supply I came up against what appeared to be a bad pic and threw in the towel, I spent way too many hours on that one. Lesson learned.

Yea I know. Ugh. But I dont go down without a fight, I probably will end up keeping the amplifier for myself so I can write my own firmware for it. I really dont have a choice. Really, only thing I need to worry about is that digipot IC thats on that same riser as the rest, plus I need to look at all the alert pins and the shutdown pin, oh and LEDs.

Luckily I write firmware for the Atmel AVR for a living, not for PIC so an IC swap is required before I can do anything.

The amp will run with the PIC disabled, but it will have 0 gain. Thats because the gain factor is controlled by the little 16 pin digital potentiometer, I2C controlled I believe.

Of course, its simple enough to bypass that chip by removing it and jumping that section out with resistors, similar to what we do on the MTX THAT2155 chips. But I have no idea if the protection circuits will still activate, as I am unsure if those signals are routed through that PIC. I think the PIC is more of a "traffic cop" than anything.

my homebrew DIY car amplifier will have an MCU at the heart of the design, running the regulation of the power supply, impedence monitoring, current monitoring, etc..

but I digress. My friend, and my nemesis at the same time. lol.
