Orion 250 hcca

Hey Perry I have a Orion 250 hcca in for repair with customer indicating the amp keeps tripping when turn the volume in 0.5 oh, 4 and 8 ohm mode, I have looked over everything on this amp and it looks prestine. Can you or anyone give me an idea where to look to see why this amp going into protect. Protection circuit out of tolerance needs a caps redone etc etc

This one looks like it may have leaked and dried up. It looks factory except the power wire connections and the plastic voltage regulator, and 2 chips that are plastic under the rails.

My mistake. I was dealing with someone with a pop-top series and I thought it was this amp. If the caps are leaking, the board needs to be cleaned thoroughly, and any saturated fiberglass needs to be cut out, back to clean fiberglass.

That's (burning slightly) fairly common with those resistors. I don't think it could cause this problem but I can't say with 100% certainty.

Did you try running one channel at a time?
