Optimal height for an (DYP)MKIII with a large MH bulb?

i'm planning on putting my projector into a MK3 type enclosure this weekend and while reading the design steps on dyp i see that it says it may not leave enough room for the mirror if you are using a larger bulb here "For larger lamps, you should put the LCD tray about 8.5" away from the center of the light source, though the MkIII enclosure may not supply you with enough room for the mirror if you are using a larger metal halide lamp." so i was wondering what an optimal height of the box would be for using a larger bulb. it's a 400W MH bulb, but not double ended hqi. any ideas? thanks

this is a great question. i've been wondering the same thing........ (about how do you know if your spacing is correct for the image to be picked up) not just the lcd tray, but also how do you know if your triplet lense is not too close and will/will not pick up the whole image and "throw" it out onto the wall.

well i went ahead and made it 30 inches tall, i'm going to make a compartment in the top for my dvd player so that it is all together, so i think that should be tall enough. this is just a test/temp box and i will be making one later out of nicer woods. my bulb comes in tomorrow so i will use it to give me an idea of my spacings, i will post my results when i get them and have a chance to take some pics
