See the Lampizator-GB I guess...

:cop: In the Lampizator GB, this vendor used both the name and the design unauthorized by the owner of the trademark. This is neither ethical, polite, nor according to trademark law. We encourage members to support projects through purchases from the actual owners of the name/design/artwork or from vendors that the name/design/artwork owner has authorized.

Generally, designers are pretty good about giving permission, so it's beyond my understanding why people don't bother asking.

What trademark 😕

Witch design? A normal SRPP Tube Stage 😕

From Lukasz Fikus Webside:

And finally - I DON'T SELL PRODUCTS, KITS OR SERVICES OF ANY KIND. Noone can afford my hourly rates so don't bother.

Think about your own... I would´t hope they close this thread also...

dvb-project asked George for permission. Therefore I wonder who the people are that you are referring to that don't ask? dvb-project also asked Lukasz but he never answered. The utterly standard schematic that is called Lampizator should not carry his name. He has no trademark. There is no novelty. There is no originality nothing. It's like me inventing some silly word for a Single Ended amplifier...let us call it Basifying it. Now I claim that everyone who makes a pcb of a Single Ended amp must ask my permission?

We TEMPORARILY stopped the ''Lampizator'' thread so to investigate the situation. Its clearly posted there. We need statement from George Stantscheff for LSPD too. Fikus openly posted against using him as a reference. We need no further statement from him, although it would be good. Locking for a few days a disputed GB thread so to clarify, isn't muting you. You certainly took it here too fast, but nobody stopped you posting.

Normal design is one thing, buzzword is another, using someone's name and his buzzword on your PCB for sale without his consent is another. If there were no names and buzzwords on the PCB's we would not have any ground for reactions, right?

Fikus protested against getting people's support requests for instance. That is something, and has to do with his name and his buzzword. Else they would ask for I/V SRPP tips starting a thread or something. IF just that was described on the PCB.

A member making a pcb for others is now a vendor?
He thus far helped many a member with authorized by George Stantscheff pcb's (including me) and donated 615$ to diyAudio. To me he seems like a fine diyAudio member.

If we did not halt to clarify, easily we could get negative posts about DIYA not paying attention as long as it gets a donation. We don't judge the usefulness of the GB, but when there is strong opposition about it, plus the man with his name on the PCB posts against, we should halt and see it further. :cop:

Salas has asked me to somehow quell the fire.
This is getting complicated.
I have no affiliation nor do I give any support where these boards are concerned or any other diy copies, I only give support to my own production Lightspeed Attenuators and to diyaudio forum Lightspeed Attenuator thread questions.
I did ask that $5usd per board to be donated to DIYAUDIO by Oliver (dvb-projekt).

I now think Oliver that on your next batch your boards, regarding me it should read,
" Lightspeed Attenuator MkII "
" Circuit design by George Stantscheff "

And on the other side " Circuit board manufactured by XXXXXXXXXX "

Cheers George

:cop: George, thanks for clarifying. So this Lightspeed PCB GB has no problem to continue on the grounds you lay.

For the other GB, Oliver (dvb-project) just got a pm from me about the examined situation in consensus from DIYA's team and options.

.

Yes, and thinking a little more.
I also believe that the circuit boards made by Oliver (dvb-projekt) be limited to 2 per sale.
And also Uriha's (udailey) matched ldr's be limited to two sets per sale.

This would then slow down any commercial profiteering, as it is meant to be diy. This then has my consent.

Cheers George

We can't monitor the activity, DIYA don't mix with such, its only about hosting or not some disputed GB. That will have to be settled as a gentlemen's agreement between you people, including the buying members positive awareness.

Jason said he would somehow monitor the sales of dvb-projekt & udailey, when he emailed me a couple of months ago when he realized donations to DIYAUDIO were part of the deal.

Im impresssed
This situation is ofcourse unfortunate
History has teached us that selfjustice can be very dangerous, and its not allowed in society
This Forum is founded on people acting thoughtful and with respect
The few times moderators are called out they get jammed by the need to act, and the expectation to rule fairly, a difficult balance

Im impressed by the way our mods willing try to adopt to the situation, and try to do the best
And also by the way a few certain people responded objectively, to get this straight
:worship:

Oh, one thing
I never liked that the GB was handled outside the usual used official wiki, or what you call it
But noone said anything, so I keept quiet about it

But please, lets not be too hard on each other

btw, regarding ownership and rights and such, try to imagine the decisions NelsonPass have been faced with, and not to forget, many other good people showing their designs and ideas here
Makes all this look pretty small in comparison

Question to the Community

Hi to the community,
many words are spoken.
After two days of thinking, i am not sure if my decision to cancel also this GB is correct to the members witch i would like to help, making their projects easier with this PCB.
So for me it is really interesting to know, if i should start the GB again!
Please feel free to post your opinion.

Thank you very much,
Oliver

Hi name-mate!

I truly believe that your intentions in supplying boards to the DIY-community were good... you are doing that in a very enthusiastic way... maybe a bit too enthusiastic (that would be the part with using Lukasz' name on your boards...😉).
But overall response is so good and it seems that your boards are very welcome... so at least continue the LSA Group Buy!

Funny, usually the "creaters" ask to have their names on the copy boards :usd:

But why be here in the first place
I suppose Lampizator have had some benefit from being on this forum, or is it just a one way street :scratch2:
Sorry, its not meant to be offending, just first thoughts from an outsider

Oh, I dont want to be misunderstood

But once a schematic is published its free to use
Whether we do GBs or not, shouldnt change much

But whether a "creator/constructor/designer" want the name to be displayed or not, it should really be a small matter and easily solved, no big deal, right
Some insists on it, and others dont want it, simple as that

Anyway, it seems like the problem has already been solved to everyones satisfaction

Hi Oliver

Would you mind answering a quick question?

I noticed there is no diode in your on board power supply to stop reverse voltages, does it need one?

The reason why I ask is I built a similar circuit before ordering your board and Ive had a couple wall-warts get hot and burn out. My 7805 always measured 5v and never got hot.

Any ideas?

Thanks
