does anybody know what is this?

It is a part of the optical engine in all projectors. These two parts are mounted between the fresnell lenses.
The metalic part looks like a blocking plate for the light. I mean that this plate block more than 50% of the light because the light can go throug just by the holes. What will happen when I will dismount it? Will the screen be brighter as i expect?
The second part is glued together from smaller colored glas parts in a strange angle, it looks like a color filter.
Does anybody know the purpose of these two things?

This my friend is what make the DEFERENCE this is polarizer filter that takes any light and convert it all to linear light i wish i have one 🙂
It can not be polarizer filter 'cause the pj works without this glass. Just the picture is darker and has different collors. The left side of the screen is too red and the right side is little bit blue. It looks like this glas makes something with the color spectre of the bulb.
Nobody knows what is it?
I dismounted the metalic part and the picture is about 10% brigter.
