OPT to KT88?

Hello all.

I have build a few PP with KT88 and a 6,6K OPT.
Will a 8K OPT work in a PP amp with KT88?

Yes, it will work, albeit output power will be lower.

You will have more class A output power, but less overall power. You can also use 4ohm speakers on 8ohm taps to reflect a lower impedance onto the tubes so the 8K would appear as a 4K.
The KT88's drive ability will be wasted or not utilized, you could substitute lesser valves like the Russian 6P3S depending on B+. Other tubes that can easily drive 8KRaa would be the 6P3-E, 6L6GC, 5881, EL34 and the larger tubes, KT66, KT77, 6550, KT88.
