if not "another thread" I'm pretty a newbie to transformers and I'm looking for a user friendly source of "how to design tube amp OPT from scratch"
I've experience of winding OPT but calculation had been given to me... Now I want to do it on my own
SE 6V6 OPT I built:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Oh thanks... seems pretty hopingHere's a good place to start... education+diy
You can post your questions here There are many people who like to share their knowledge.
I'm pretty a newbie about OPT... for example now I decide to build a tube amp... the fist step is to chose tube and whether it is SE ot PP... here I chose SE... the tune is 2A3 for example... I know I have to take a look at 2A3 datasheet and find the tube working parameters (working voltage, etc...)
can you tell me more from here forth?
Well !
And after that you must be able to caracterize the OPT:
-Admissible losses,
-Z ratio,
-Various current thru it and voltage accross (AC and DC),
-Expected bandwith and from that:
--Minimum primary inductance,
--Maximum leakage inductance,
-- ... etc ...
At least . . . and now we can start design.

First of all, you need to choose a schematic (unless you are going to design your own). A description of this particular schematic usually contains information about required/recommended transformer parameters.
looking at different site on winding OPT has so many charateristics and requirements needed for computation...well, doing math is sometimes time consuming especially when you have other job to do....maybe i can suggest, if there are those experts here on designing opt can provide simple reference data needed, may not be the exact but even approximate values will do...
example: power(watts)=core size=primary turns=sec turns =primary wire size=sec wire size...
i think by this data alone, any diyer can build there own OPT....either SE or PP...

as you said if the calculation is given to me, I can wind it! for sure... I've done it before... but is there anyone or any place that such a computations are available for newbie DIYers?
