I repair a Heathkit W-5M amp, the output transformer with a B+ tapped primary was open on one side, but the ultra linear tap to plate tap was good.
I un-pot the transformer and hope the open wire was on the connection joint, but no luck.
The customer give me the bad transformer for experiment. I had a little Magnavox 8301 tube amp which the bass was weak.
I switch the Peerless 16458 in one of the channel for the Magnavox 8301 and the bass was improved a lot.

Hi Tony, your right, but I have a question, I utilize the open side ultra linear tap and plate tap winding as the 6bq5 cathode feedback coil and the same
amount of DC current flow through 6bq5 plate/screen and cathode, does these current will cancelled out so it will works without gapped ? I don't know is right or not.

You need to maintain the same number of ampere-turns in both sides of the transformer primary, so you need greater current in the UL tap portion based on the UL tap turns vs the full primary.
one side Push-Pull output transformer use as SE experiment
The core must be like 4 times bigger to work as SE. Since you went from a 30W amp to a 5W amp, yes, it may "work", but a lot of unnecessary weight and cost (unless you got it free).

no, it does no work that way, your output tube conduct current all the time...
Yes, I got it free, it may cost to much to re-winding it, I don't want to try I don't had the skills. I unpot it just hope the open side was happen on the tap.
What is a better way to used of it ?

for me, the best way is to dismantle the cores and stack them back with an airgap...you need not do anything with the windings..
