A 40 cm wide baffle will roll off from about 300 Hz, a 50 cm wide baffle from 200 Hz. -4 dB points will be roughly one octave lower each. Both results for mounting a 10'' driver 6'' down from the upper baffle edge.
You will need to EQ a 3-4 dB peak above 500 Hz.
You should have at least 1 m from driver to front and side walls. Bigger distance to front wall would be helpful for more bass.
Try to toe in the baffles until the speaker axis' meet 1 foot in front of your head.
