Jeff, you might want to calculate weight and think again about paying for shipping these when sqrivi tires of them. Just rent a U-haul and make a road trip of it.

I like these a lot, aren't cnc machines great 🙂 I am thinking of putting mine to work on some speakers as well. I can only imagine how many sheets of MDF went in to this.
In fact I don't want to, tell us, please 🙂

I don't remember how many sheets this took. I do remember the place I had the CNC work done charged less than what I determined I could by the MDF for to do it myself. Their core business is building vehicle specific subwoofer boxes so they buy sheets of MDF by the truck load and pay a lot less per sheet than I would.
It's not often a place will do something with a cnc for less than you can do by hand so you did well there!
well, it's been a while but I will be delivering these to the painter this week. We are going to do some samples first to make sure of the colors and finish. I think I have decided to go mirror high gloss finish on the wood inserts and black with a satin finish on everything else. I will post more pics as things progress.

Do you use ane EQ in the range 100-300hz. I'm affaraind there is a gab in response between the drivers. IMHO sub shouldn't be downfiring if the OB is not reaching down to at least 150hz.

If someone posts the dims of the baffle i will sim the 1808s response and see how low it goes.

Approx 38" x 18" allows the 1808 to reach 150hz before dropping rapidly. There are other factors but this is what XLBaffle shows on my quick sim.
The baffle is 20x42 with very rounded sides and a slight "u" shape. All of the sharp edges or corners are on the rear of the baffle, with the exception of the top.

I went through several baffle shapes and sizes to get to this design. I didn't have a good way to model this but the more rounded I made the sides and curved the front.....the better it sounded.
Really impressive, very interesting. Do you have any updates since Nov? Also, could you give an estimate cost to build, parts list, etc? Very, very nice design.
They really are amazing, finish them quick and lets have some listening immpresions, I have to say they look like 200k kit. But we all know you can do just as well with a sheet of ply and some Fostex drivers, right?
Holy Mother of Crap!
WOW That's amazing! Nice work, stunning!
That about sums it up.😎
I know its been a bit, but the parts are finally being painted. I should have them back in a week or two. I'll post pics of the paint progress.
