I truly don't claim to have a deep understanding of the dynamics of baffle design, impacts on dipole peaks, and cavity resonances! I've just noted that some like Perry have used triangular wings, which add their own form of variability, plus these transducers are round and have their own variable effective distance to the edges of even straight baffles.
I thought it was sort of a blend? Or at least, at some point the zone of shorter distance would become small enough to not be dominant?
In my prototype the shortest path is up over the angles at around 45 degrees. At some point I'll take clean measurements, remove the white wings, and remeasure. It'll be interesting to see what they are or are not achieving!
pressure always find shortest way, specially when wave length is longer than frame/baffle

I did get them up and running. Not a bad first impression!
In-room response has some issues, but before I worry about it much I'm going to get the tweeters in proper waveguides and try to measure them outside. I'll be out of town for a few days, so this will have to wait for the moment.
Man those are big drivers, specially raised up like that... 24" / 61 cm to the woofer centerline.
Observations so far: the open sound stage/space feels really nice, they seem to play well even at low volumes, the tweeter is more detailed than I'm used to, they sound less fleshy/organic and more airy/dry (break-in period? Emotiva HT amp?), and I'm not getting upper bass punch like I'm used to (but maybe also room issues).
It's very fun to just click in the software and have drivers mute, change filters, etc. on the fly. When the software doesn't disconnect itself from the Flex 8, that is.
