OPA 627 Sounded very dull

You're talking of the ADA4627-1, correct? It looks very interesting indeed.

What is your supply voltage?

I have finally gotten around to trying the ADA4627 with a 15V supply, as it is just a drop in. I started off with the OPA134, then OPA627 and now the ADA.

Its interesting, there is very little between the 134 and 627, but I think the 627 has the better bass control. They both sound good. Now, the ADA4627 I thought wasn't much different, but now with some more listening it is becoming apparent that in my system it is much cleaner than both of the NS op-amps, great control over the bass and things like cymbals are that bit more metalic and realistic. I'll see how they settle in once I have had a chance to listen to my usual selection of cds.
 
In my preamp "discrete buffered output circuit" and low gain A=1-3.
