I asked a view times on this forum how to come on "the list"", and how and to who i must pay, but it seems that i missed this round. I do not come on the list.

Is there a second change for me to buy the boards? I realy want to buy them and prefer to pay with PayPal.

Thanks for answering.

My paypalaccount is just used so that those overseas with banks that charges huge sums for the transfer has a way around it, so if you can transfer direct to Veteran then do it. But if you own bank just charges a dollar or two then please use them.

Does anyone know the Paypal emailaddress of Veteran?
No paypal, only banktransfer to his bankaccount. Thats why some people are bouncing the payment via me.

All
I have recieved money from a number of people and since it takes a few days before veteran recieves them I plan to start moning the money tomorrow. So don't send me more money after today (april 19th).

One more thing. I will start to transfer fundings to my bankaccount tomorrow, this will take 5-7days according to Paypal. After that, the transfer to Veteran will take another couple of days. So it will take some time, the shipping is up to Veteran but I have notified him of who has payed me and how much. I will transfer the sum he recuires and the leftovers will be donated to Diyaudio as promised.

So to say it again. No more transfers please.

Recommended Parts List (BOM)

Folks:

I am asking for myself, though the other newbies who have taken advantage of Veteran's generosity will also appreciate this question:

Can anyone recommend specific components for the Aleph P 1.7 PCBs? I am looking for a complete bill of materials, preferably with Digikey or Mouser reference numbers. I'm not just looking for values but also specific resistor and capacitor recommendations, since I'm not well versed enough in electronics to understand the merits of one brand or type of component versus another. If exotic parts make a difference, I'd like to know about it.

Any help you experts can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Regards to all,
Scott

The in- and output capacitors are the most significant parts, and the most expensive.
Best type to use there are MKPs, but 10uF MKP costs.
Common ones: Epcos/Siemens- Wima(MKP4-MKP10)- Solen/Chateauroux.
For the time being i'm using low induction Wima GTO 30uF MKP capacitors (hand grenade size), doesn't have a very nice price tag.

Jacco,

very nice thought though on this pcb you will not have the space to mount neither wound, handgrenade size Solen, Mundorf or other exotic MKP caps nor the nice WIMA MKP 4 or MKP 10.

The only option is to turn towards EPCOS impulse MKPs (or similar) or to use electrolytic capacitors such as Elna Cerafine (bypassed with a Panasonic ECQ-P-type MKP of 0,047uF) or a Black Gate N-type cap.

I am in the process of building 2 sets of P 1.7 boards based on VETERAN´s boards and will use "good standart" components on one set and exotic components (such as Vishay CMF 55-143 resistors, Panasonic ECQ-P-type 680pF caps and Black Gate capacitors) on the other.

The price difference is significant. Will the sound be...?

Nisbeth,

for a start you can ommit the 10uF on the input provided you are absolutely positive about no offset there. As long as your sources are free of any DC, just skip them.

As on the output, I already had a P 1.7 built by a friend that lived on 10uF only whithout any DC on the terminals...
