The Amp is a 41hz, AMP5 and when i connect the source (laptop or anything) directly to it there are no problems, It is dead quiet and working good.
So thats why i suspect that the groundloop is caused by the Aleph and not the tripath amp.. this might be wrong of course.
How did you wire your ground ?

I have connected all the grounds through a thermistor to the chassis. That is, all the grounds to the RCA/XLR, on the main board (in and out) and the PSU. This is probably too much, but it does work.
I read this advice (single ground point) on this forum when building the Aleph 1.2.

Has anyone experimented with bypassing the input and the output BG N caps with BG Nx 0.1uF or other caps? I have read threads debating bypassing the input caps on the Aleph power amps, and where they have really improved the sound by using 0.1 and 1uF in parallel with the 220uF cap.
Folkeb,
to my experience I had no gain in bypassing a Black Gate by any other cap.
I decided to leave BG as they were.
On the other hand, if you use a Panasonic or Nichicon elec cap, it serves it very well to bypass it with a Cardas Golden Ratio. Great improvement!
But honestly, I can not tell if I like the BG better over a Panasonic/Cardas...
Try for yourself. It all sticks to your listening environment, your frontend, speakers....
Take care

Soon, I am busy building my second version. This time with KK's PCBs, and "better" parts (Dale resistors, Sikorels etc) and a custom made casing. Will post images as soon as it is done (on a seperate thread).

If any boards are still available, I would like to order a set in gold
plated. Thanks.

Hi there! I was curious, ar there more people who ended there projekt, and got some pictures of it. Grtz Teake.
Folks:
I'd like to build the best-sounding Aleph P 1.7 that I can reasonably afford, but don't have a good sense of how different components sound. I am also unsure of how to choose one type of product (say, an electrolytic capacitor) over another (like a polypropylene cap). After reading through this thread, I have cobbled together an Aleph P 1.7 parts list. Any comments you could offer, or recommendations for better parts, would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Scott
