Hi Folks... 🙂 Allthough i've Dealt with and Build RF & Audio Amplifyers, for some 30 Years, and have read a post here & There, now and then @ diyaudio.com for probably 20 of those i have only reasently become a full member with a registerd profile... And thereof quite UnFamiliar With Postings And Such, And Allthoug i speak english when i'm on the ham radio i am probably not that good at writing it, so excuses my friends if my spelling is wrong.................. Anyhow i came over these hefty iron's (i'll try to attach Pictures) in three disregarded UPS stations, and tryed to Google all of the numbers written on them sadly without result... So i thought what the heck why not try my Favourite Audio forum (( My God how much MisInformation there exists on the internett, on one audio forum i came over, they discussed That An audio Speaker was DC & NoT.!! AC Driven.?? O.m.g..?? )) Well 🙂 🙂 Thank God for forums like this with people that actually know what there talking About...... 🙂

He he 🙂 Sorry People, Seems i'm fast on the keyboard (rather then mobile) and wrote a lot.!? The Question i Was pondering was if Anybody has seen, or otherwise know About winding ratio & arrangement, There seems to be two Windings on each leg seperated with good sized spacers ( witch is veeery good for High Frequencys / Low Winding Capacitance ) i'll guess it's voltage rated to 220v, But other then that i know little About them... Thought Of The Possability To Use Them In Some Kind Of Inductor Loading of Hybride Tube/Mos Class A Single ended or Balanced Arrangement...... On Before Hand Many Thanx People 🙂 And Keep uP 🙂 That Good Spirit.... 🙂
Those large cores look coarsely laminated, probably 50 or 60Hz common-mode chokes to clean up after the inverter output stage. Won't cover the audio band well I fear.
The yellow ring cores are much more interesting - the colour coding and size will probably identity them and lead to a datasheet, perhaps at Micrometals.

Hi 🙂 Mark Tillotson....
Well Since i have dabbled In Rf (build transformer's, BaluN's, Chokes And So On) I Know About those color codes, And Although i don't quite remember them on the fly, i have loads of PDF's from both micrometal, ferroxcube, and amidon witch describes there UI value's & frequency characteristics... So Mark 🙂 if you need any i have over almost 30 years accumulated some 15000 PDF Files On Mostly Electronic Components....
Those yellow cores You Mentioned seems to be made in tjekoslovakia or something like that, they are label with some serial.? numbers & codes...
🙂
Usually i use those in my Power supply's quite close to the rectifiers and they do good there 🙂 but the green cores are even better in that regard...
Those UPS Butchered PCB's with the various filter chokes and not least some OK ICEL, High voltage film capacitors, and loads of electrolytic 400v caps, And Not least those beatyfull massive Cooling fins, i will try to throw in some more PiC's....
Those Largest Ones are 30 kg UI/C core 220V - To ? Transformers & not filter chokes.. And when i butchered the UPS,s they where just set to bypass and the battery terminals was just taped over and had probably not been used in a while... 🙂
Therefor i have no idea of what the secondary voltage could be, and have not gotten around to do some measuring yet, i just thougt i could post some pics of them in the hopes that someone in here had some knowledge of them..... 🙂 Anyhow i have had Success 🙂 With MicroOven Transformers ( A very good source of such transformers and other HV GooD'ies ) primarys where i open the EI Cores
(split the i of the e part of the core, they're usualy welded so one has to saw into the core & then chisel them off)
To reduce danger of saturation, the downside to that is that down goes Inductance to, And even with an Amp Of Bias Current to my headphone hybride Tube / Mos Amp They get HoT 🙂
But Dang my *** Do they sound God Ooooih Yes... 😎
My Thought was to series couple some of the windings as each series couple will Half The winding Capacitance, And also in that regard there is a bakkelite (@ least 3-5 mm) spacers between the innermost & outer windings witch will even more reduce winding / paracitic Capacitances..... 🙂
🙂
My hopes was that since they weigh a Ton ( 30 kg ) and has as i said earlier, 4 separate windings witch if all series coupled (it seems all windings have the same copper wire diameter) would quarter the Capacitance, And that Coupled with my Plans of a super heavy CLASS-A Bias of 3-8 Amps, And that they would manage that without running to hot, and So to render the capacitance of lesser influence....... 🙂 😎 🙂
They're so large that one could possabli Slap a Cooling Fin on one or both of there large flat sides to cool the Core if not the windings....
Anyhow & wow it became a little letter here so excuse me for that, and that my english spelling is'nt quite uP To Par 🙂 I'll once Again Try to Attach some Pictures 🙂 Practice Makes Maestro Hi Hi 🙂
🙂
Bests Of Regards To All 🙂

🙂
I am Also in the Process building or rather, Re-Building
(since i had it before and got sabotaged, with sand/gravel in the pump and tank witch of coarse destroyed the pump) 🙂 Proper Water Cooling 🙂
i think that Water is the only way to go 🙂 (Especially in winter times when there is -15 celcius degrees outside)
To Cool Hard working Mosfets in Burning CLASS-A Bias,
And since NORWAY has about 92-98% of it's Electricity Needs Covered by hydroelectric water damns, i Could Not care less about Green energy worry's or what not...
That does not mean i don't worry about the climate change and the Planet ( Our SpaceShip ) In general.... 🙂
And then at last with witch the whole water cooling begun My Main Computer (witch From at least half of my music listening comes from, And Vinyl of coarse) Witch is right beside where i usually sit in my Living room....
Get to Rip out Those annoying Cooling Fans the heck out of it and kill the fan noise for good..... 🙂 😎
