Oil leak in Well Tempered bearing

Make that oil leak from Well Tempered bearing...

I heavily modified a Well Tempered Simplex plinth that I found used, making a lowercase for it using a Well Tempered Record Player plastic bearing. If you know this bearing, it uses 5 teflon or teflon tipped screws, two at the top side, two at the opposite bottom side and one offset on the bottom. Of the 4 Well Tempered's I own, only this one bearing has ever leaked.

I used the correct synthetic oil and sealed the 5 teflon tipped metal screws into place, covering them completely with latex caulk, wanting something that could be removed should I need to replace one of these teflon screws. Sadly, the oil leaked out of the ;over 3 screw positions.

Perhaps I should have used a silicon sealant or adhesive, some[thing that might seal more strongly and hold the motor oil in. Any thoughts as to exactly what I should be considering?

The product mentioned above sounds like a silicone sealant, which is what I recommend.
Make sure and super clean everything with alcohol and let that dry before using the silicone sealant.
The water based latex caulk didn’t have a chance with the oil, as you suspected.
