There really needs to be a thread of good/bad ones and types and bulbs and etc.

Anyone willing to start one?

also, a question: i knwo that its said the minimum lumens ofr a good picture is 4,000..but, how bad would the pciture quality be with less than that?

there is no diyprojector with that lumens, i bet you my life.

I think he's refering to the lumen output of an OHP. And there are many that put out 4000 or more. The reason a lot of people suggest a 4000 lumen OHP, is because once the lcd is on top of it, it will only pass about 5-10% of that. I have used a 2500 lumen OHP, and it was fine in a very dark room, but introduce any outside light or turn on a lamp and it washed out pretty bad.
