I recently noticed that a CM1512 15in LCD Flat Panel Monitor ($249, including shipping) will cost me a lot less than a Sharp QA-2500. It also has a much larger screen, much higher contrast ratio (400:1), and a beautiful response time (15ms).
My OHP (3M 9200, 10.5x10.5in stage)'s stage isn't large enough for a 15" screen. The area of the whole top of the OHP is 14.2x16.75in.
The It'd be cool to build a DIY encloser, but I was wondering if it would be possible to cut out some area around the OHP stage to make room room for a 12x12 fresnel. I'd actually only need to do it on the horizontal level because the 15" diagonal screen is 9" long. This would save time and allow me to use the parts already in the OHP.
If this is not possible or practical for whatever reason, could someone try to provide a solution? Thx a lot for your time.

ugh..
Never mind that. My OHP (which was still on its way when I posted that) arrived, broken. I'm giving up on OHP's and going straight to DIY projector boxes.
