If you are looking for an easy solution for insulation the chip, I found that TO-3 silpads actually fit pretty well.
I'm not saying it's the best solution, but it's clean (compared to grease/mica) and you don't need to buy a big sheet of silpad material and cut, which for a couple chips is expensive.
