Well bad news for me!
I had aquired a Telex LCD projector ($160) in hopes of an easy fix After spending $30 trying to get the bulb to light I ended up trying to sell it off for parts to no avil.

So then I had an idea! I would use a MH bulb and use a dead bigscreen to build my own rear projection LCD tv--Well this was all going well until I mixed up two wires and smoked my projectors LCD controller. So there just went $200:hot:

Well, my loss was $450 and I didnt try anything as complicated as you I just broke the glass of my lcd by not being carefull enough. Id like to call this the "the cost of playing" or "the cost of screwing around" or where you are more calm you may call it
"the cost of experimentation"

I've probably lost 1-200

just from all the bad panels, and bad monitors, and bad screens, blackout cloth , i've probably spent at least 200, but it's fun, I really like this hobby, watching a 55" tv is really worth the pain
my friend just got a Hitachi, 57 HDTV, and man it's nicer than my setup, but at least I have something😀

while were on the subject i lost

1..7" lilliput £ 170
2...5" car monitor £150
3...5" sony £30
4...150w ballast £60
5..wasted bits of wood £20
6...and got fresnel pieces in my eyes twice. £PRICELESS

and i just started my second project. let the joy begin!! :att'n:
