And now for a little dummy question. On this page, http://www.speakermania.com/crobox/offset.html, you can count on offset compensation. I'm just wondering what it is... What does that applet do? I understand that it is some sort of phase compensation...

The applet did not work on my browser. But, IT WOULD APPEAR however this is only a textbook formula calculator to find compenent value for adjusting relative offset values, to align phase angles of HP and LP at Fc. This calculatin is useless without further data, such as phase measurments of the actual loudspeaker on the baffle, in the first place. For practical purposes, simply fine tune crossover values with tweeter and woofer polarity's inversed from normal polarity, and find the point at which the negative null is the greatest(lowest SPL measurement) and adjust values until -db is lowest value. This is your real-world method.
