Do we still have moderators? The reason I ask is it seems a lot of forums
are geting way off topic. For example the f5 thread in the Pass forum has
discussions about a alph amp several pages of posts about modifying a computer power supply for other voltages and currents and that's just in the
last 4 pages or so.

Yes there are moderators but we work just like the rest so are not always available. No need to start a new thread, report a post and we all will see it.

what's wrong with that ?
ppl are talking about possibility to use switcher supply in F5 ;
better to have even some sidetracking than strictly bitching , as in some famous threads
As a moderator on another forum, I tend to give them a break; it's a thankless job and considering they do it for free a lot of leeway should be given 🙂
Hi Glowbug,
Thank you for that, you're exactly right. I find myself being far more tolerant of other moderators on different sites as well.
Hi Woody,
We are often stretched a little thin, and there is a major software changeover still in process. The normal way to deal with problems would be to report the posts in general. If there is something to the complaint, we will act. Note that there are times when a discussion may be required before we can act, so don't always expect instant action.
Also, please consider the post Cal made. He is right you know. Often we may have members tightly tuned into a thread, or threads. Just because you see something doesn't mean a moderator will. The other issue is that we are also members and would like to enjoy our interests as well. Just think, the moderators where normal members for a time too. We came here for the same reasons as anyone else would.
