I have the need to rip the wood for some speakers I’m going to build for my winter project and do not have the rip capacity on my personal table saw (12”) to do the larger cuts for the side panels of some of the speakers. Now my odd request, is there anyone within the Greater Toronto area who would be willing to allow me to use their shop saw or possibly just their able personal table saw with a rip capacity wider than 18”. See I am planning on building a pair of Saburu’s in MDF (Sorry Dave but I’m painting them and plywood won’t cut the finish) and three small dual wave guide style boxes (mini BVR) for some FE127E’s to make a fullrange 5.1 system. I’d need the ability to cut three sheets as this is what is required for material and I’d even be willing to pay you for shop time as long as it’s a very reasonable fee, remember this is DIY. My main reason for wanting to do things this way is last time I used a lumber yard or Home Improvement store to do my large cuts they where off by quite a bit and the tolerances were ridiculous I couldn’t even get edges square, waste of time, material and way too much money. I’d like to be able to do the old “If you can’t get it done right do it yourself” type thing but if I bring a cutlist for these and someone feels more comfortable making the cut’s themselves then I’d be willing to do that also as I do think I made sheet layout diagrams for these. PM me here if you have the ability and we can go from there, I’m not willing to make a 45min drive to have access to a saw, and would prefer closer to me if possible. If you have material available in ¾” I’ll give you what a lumber yard or big box will charge for material. I’d like to be able to do this on a Saturday afternoon or later in the evening during the week. Any way details can be sorted once I have a willing donor, Thanks and keep well.
I recalled your post and came back to check. I don't know if you've received the help you were looking for.
I have a pair of "proof-of-concept" Saburo's made of MDF. Actually the MDF was five bucks a sheet from a guy that lived near a MDF plant and used the seconds for a one time dance floor, over his deck, for his daughter's wedding. (All "wood" has a story... even MDF, it seems)
The workmanship is passable and for a paint grade finish, they are likely a good base. Maybe some foot scuffs but no dents. Some fillable screw holes.
They sound fantastic but I'm soon building a beta build of the Avebury for the Alpair 12.
If the Avebury's win in my environment, the MDF Saburo's need a home. I figure I have $12 tied up in them. (A day in the shop is just fun.)
Price: Free, sans drivers, of course.
I hate to see anything go to waste and would prefer to support the community that has give so much to me. I'm in Georgetown.

Well I'm sorry to say I did buy a good Table saw and cut the wood myself, built the 5.1 system and am now just awaiting finish as they break in. I appreciate the offer and your a gentleman for even offering, but someone much more in need than I could probably use these cabinets and be very pleased with the opportunity. Thanks again for the thought I appreciate the offer.
