Odd question so lets have it

I have a pait of old ads 320i and in storage, somehow, there is a light coat of paint. Most likely rust-oleum. Are they damaged and do I try and take the paint off or leave it alone.

Thanks for the response. I was thinking the same thing but wasn't sure. Being that's it is an old speaker, I thought that any kind of solvent may do more damage than good.
