Here I thought this thread was going to be about nicely oversized amplifier cases with plenty of heatsink surface area…
That was my intention too...
Exposed heat sinks, any idea if there are any safety restrictions on making the heat sinks part of the exterior of the case? Nice ventilation free, and rugged looking if you like the look...

Another DIY Audio member was looking for heat sinks, I found a heat sink seller in Ahmedabad city, 840 grams, $3 a kilo plus shipping.
About $2.50... about the price of a burger, so cost saving or any thought about a few cents worth of saving is futile.
He wanted for 2SA5200 and complementary transistors...quite a big one compared to most.
So I found this whole heat sink color and polish discussion a bit superfluous.
Best discuss what is a stable temperature for the devices, like about 90 degrees is thought okay for white power LEDs, and go from there after considering heat dissipation requirements.
Blindly discussing something is pointless.
You have to think about ambient temperature, available ventilation, shut down methods, factor of safety, even how the device is fastened, the efficiency of the heat transfer compound, quite a long list.
