Recently I posted about the possibility of doing my own line arrays. Well browsing through my backup archives, I found this render from December 1st, 2013 that I never finished. Enjoy, and sadly we can only dream of what it might have sounded like:

Obelisk Tower speakers...

12-way line array speakers, in a storage locker. Acoustically perfect speakers in an acoustically imperfect environment. Metal siding and a 70s-ish "lava" carpet, complete this garage setup. Pure analog stereo bliss.

Speakers consist of an insanely complex 12-way crossover with full range drivers of varying dimensions ranging from massive to tiny. Bass heavy at the bottom, treble heavy at the top, warm, vibrant, and oh so sweet sounding in the middle.

Original scene composted December 1st, 2013. I was partly inspired by the insanely pricey IDS-25 and the Washington monument. I started modelling a vinyl record player (modeled after my audio technica LP-120 which itself is a clone of the older Audio Technic DJ tables) the as the audio source but never finished the scene.

Come 2017, I started lusting of building my own line array speaker build after viewing projects other people had built, and remembered this old Bryce 7.1 scene that I never finished. Old projects are never truly forgotten, I guess.

Rendered in Bryce 7.1, entirely out of boolean primitive objects. 36-rays-per-pixel premium antialias. 4 hour render time on AMD Bulldozer 4.2Ghz. Download link for "4k" 3480x2160 resolution.
