From china I just found a "new" company doing a class-D 1 U DSP-design (2 x1100 @ 8 Ohms).
OBE
The amplifier I mean is called DA1000. I have ordered one unit to do some power testing with my existing setup.
Why pay several 1000s if some 100s are also enough for a >2KW amp +DSP? Other manufacturers charge more for the DSP alone than this amp would cost including shipping / duty etc...
Any opinion / experience?
If I have got and tested the unit, I will report the results here. Let's wait and see what they re gonna ship to me...

Take a look at their catalog, it seems they are cloning various products without a clue about how they work. I seriously doubt they can do the R&D of what they sell. This is very dangerous for new technologies, copying inaccuracies or mistakes can go unnoticed for too long, until you discover that the product does not meet specs or fails prematurely.
I hate overpriced brands too, but Chinese clone makers are the very same thing, they can deceive you all the time without feeling bad at all.

@ Eva: Yep, I think so too, but it depends on the application. If I make a living on my Audio system and would never get any job again if only one amp or speaker fails during a session then I d really eat the bill and buy the real thing. But there are other applications, like private parties or my garden home discotheque for example, where I can buy 10 Chinese clones for the money of 1 Powersoft DSP amp. If 8 of them fail due to bad workmanship AND I can not easily repair them (which is very unlikely) and only 2 work well, I am still in the plus compared to buing the real thing. Remember, there are many private hobbyist DJs and DIY audio freaks who prefer to get the most bang for the buck. Not everybody needs to ensure reliability first.
