Hi,
I am planning to make my first OB speakers for which I will be using eminence alpha 15a two nos per side (top and bottom) and for the mid section I am planning to implement 8 nos per side of FR Tymphany TC8FD05-04 3. Aim is to look like a tekton
My question to all experts here is, is this a doable thing? what are the pointers I should be looking for
for crossover I am going to use a dbx234x but I understand that I need to split further at FR region.

that fullrange is given for 20W 20Hz ~ 10kHz so I guess you would insert a tweeter for the upper octaves.
A la tekton it means that those FRs are in some sort of circular(square) array, right?
There are some threads here at DIY talkin' about it.
Some others are about linear arrays, where "beam steering" is probably the thing you mention when saying "do more X-over work for the FRs"

Which tecton ? I did a quick search and didn't find any one of there designs like you are describing but perhaps I didn't look enough.

OB with FR similar to tekton Impact Monitor, just the circular alignment
Maybe you get an idea here or ask the member with those speakers:
Your opinion? FaitalPro 3fe22 V.S. 4fe32
He´s documented his speakers quite well in his blog too. (without measurements though!):

This looks interesting
My head is spinning after seeing the crossover, how do I implement it with the FR's
Implement it in a similar way. Basically, the cluster of drivers are split into three groups each at different frequency ranges.Only one (the center) is the tweeter, one group is a high-mid and one is a mid-mid setup. I'd copy it.

Great, if you dont mind can you let me know what drivers you have used and what frequency it was split and what supporting woofer was used
With VituixCAD you can even simulate the drivers on the baffle
let me try it
- Home
- Loudspeakers
- Full Range
- OB with multiple 3 inch FR drivers
