You need a bag of salt on your shoulder anytime you dive into ASR.
The low impedance can be an issue but if you connect to the 4Ω taps, but the signicant impedance peaks are the big issue. One at the low frequency resonance — in a box speaker you can adding damping to help compensate (at least a bit), but the big rise too often seen at the XO point is an issue. When the impedance rises the amplifier’s power rises, so that impedance peak introduces a frequency respnse peak.

Can't comment about Klipsch horns in later decades, but all early horn systems I've researched were matching impedance designs to get max efficiency, though not necessarily used as such to meet the needs of the app.
Hehehe. What a place that is. 🙂You need a bag of salt on your shoulder anytime you dive into ASR.

Dave.
This has lots for inspiration. Although some mistaken gallery with discussion.
